Having experiencing a personal life dominating struggle with cocaine and alcohol abuse, Stephen joined the ministry team under Roy’s direction in 1999 with the goal of receiving personal discipleship and mentoring. The OneWay ministry program was launched under Stephen’s leadership and later flourished into the intensive residential treatment program that is now called The TREK Program. Stephen’s role on the Board of Directors was to assist in the Board directed development of organizational infrastructure to support and undergird the formalized ministry program operations when the new non-profit corporation was formed and the ministry ownership transferred from First Baptist Church in Woodstock, Georgia to The HopeQuest Ministry Group, Inc. Currently in his 2^nd term as a Board member, Stephen will retire from the board in June of 2010 and will devote his full attention to the expanding clinical programs and their day-to-day operations.
