Roy Blankenship, MAMFT, LAPC, CAADC, BCCC

Chief Executive Officer

Roy was born in Birmingham, AL in 1957.  He moved to the Atlanta, Georgia area in 1990 to take advantage of a career opportunity as a specialist in the commercial data processing industry. After experiencing God’s leading for him to be in vocational ministry, Roy left the commercial data processing field and joined the First Baptist Church in Woodstock, Georgia as the Pastoral Care minister. It was in this context that the Lord developed Roy’s heart. He had a passion to develop counseling processes and programs that were Biblically correct, theologically sound (and in accordance with his doctrinal convictions), Jesus Christ centered, and clinically effective. Under his leadership at First Baptist Church, the lay counseling program, the church’s counseling center, and the City of Refuge program for fallen and wounded ministry leaders were developed. In addition, the ministries that are under the organizational umbrella of The HopeQuest Ministry Group, Inc. were founded under Roy’s leadership at First Baptist Church. “God gave me a vision and a passion for developing church-based counseling ministry programs. I believe that The HopeQuest Ministry Group, Inc. is an integral part of that dream and that HopeQuest will become instrumental in the advancement of Judeo-Christian methodologies in the field of mental health and psychological disciplines. It is the reason I get up in the morning! I pray that I’ll be living the HopeQuest dream when I take my last breath. It is – and has been – a true adventure with God.” Roy received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance from The University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1981. He earned a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University and has completed 75% of the program requirements for the Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Roy is also a Board Certified Christian Counselor, a Certified Clinical Sexual Addiction Specialist, a Certified Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and a Licensed Associate Practicing Counselor. Roy lives in the Woodstock area with his wife, Nancy, and their cat, Fluffy.
