Wayne developed his call to work in ministry through his own path through brokenness towards wholeness in his journey with Christ. Originally seeking to become a physician, Wayne earned his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from the United States Air Force Academy and completed over three-and-a-half years of medical school at Emory University with an emphasis in psychiatry. As he eventually embraced homosexuality and a lifestyle of addiction that led him to prison, he eventually found hope for wholeness through relationships that led him to The HopeQuest Ministry Group. Abandoning all hope that the acceptance of homosexuality would lead to relational satisfaction, he eventually served as a mentor with the TREK program while working professionally for three years as a physician staffing consultant. After receiving a call to ministry at a Christian conference for those struggling with same-sex attractions, though, he received the opportunity to apply for the Chuck Colson Scholarship through the Institute of Prison Ministries at Wheaton College.
Having recently completed his Master of Arts in Historical and Systematic Theology, Wayne joined HopeQuest in January 2011 as the Director of Continuing Care. He brings a unique combination of clinical and professional education and personal experience to a staff passionate to minister to those with life-dominating issues.
